5 out of 5 stars Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filters   March 8, 2010

Works as they should, although I'm guessing on quality city water (which we have), they're no where near spent in 6 months per filter. Definitely makes the ice taste better!!

4 out of 5 stars refrigerator filter replacement   March 7, 2010
Mickey (Houston, TX)
amazon allowed us to easily find the part that we needed and purchase it for a reasonable price.
the only thing that would have been helpful would have been a link to something which showed for which refrigerators the filter was appropriate - i needed to find an old receipt for a previous purchase to id it.

5 out of 5 stars Whirlpool Water Filter   March 4, 2010

This is the about the seventh time I have had to replace the water filter in my Kenmore refrigerator. I find that Sears charges much more for the filter than I can find it at other stores. It did take me a little research to match up the model number for the Kenmore recommended filter to its Whirlpool model number. Now, I have discovered I can get it for about $10 cheaper on Amazon, and it qualified for free shipping.

4 out of 5 stars Tried both filters for Whirlpool; works fine   March 4, 2010

My Whirlpool is a "fastfill" and I tried these cyst-reducing slow-fill filters because at the time for some reason they were cheaper, and looked just the same. I think they do slow down the fill a little bit, but they are apparently filter more so I guess its a trade-off. If you have questionable water it would certainly be worth it. Since they both work, I now buy whichever one's cheaper. I DO wish they'd come out with one that took out salts, and yes -- even flouride which I do not consider a benefit.
